What is NESBA?
Formerly called The New England High School Colorguard Circuit, NESBA-the New England Scholastic Band Association- was founded in 1977 to create a place for high school colorguards to perform and compete during the winter. The name was changed to what we're currently acustomed to when the directors decided to coordinate procedures for Marching Band competitions.
The colorguard circuit is called "Winter Activities Programs" because it also includes percussion ensembles. Like the Fall Marching Band Activities, the Winter Activities Programs are open to any secondary school in the New England area.
